Forestry production set to increase in Estonia

In what will be good news for those planning Estonian forestry investments, a forest regeneration company has announced plans to almost double production and increase numbers.

Finnish-Estonian company AS Eesti Metsataim will invest €2.8 million to double production in the Baltic region with the State Forest Management Centre planning to increase its share capital of AS Eesti Metsataim by €600,000 to support the investment.

Currently, the Baltic region is one of the more prosperous areas for forestry investment in Europe. This is partly down to the increased investment in biomass technologies as the European Union seeks to create more energy from renewable sources.

This trend for increased investment could be set to continue if investments similar to this continue to take off in future.

According to ERR News, the plants will help to supply the Estonian state forests with ten per cent being sent to Fin Forelia OY in Finland.
