Estonia's only packaging paper producer has restarted operations at its plant in Kehra, it has been revealed.
The firm, Horizon Pulp and Paper shut down its mill in late December, blaming the move on an unexpected drop in demand.
However, Sunil Marwah, chief executive officer of the company, explained the situation has now improved.
Mr Marwah said: "Unexpected drop in global demand forced us to close temporarily the packaging paper production in late-December, but for Horizon we see some clear signs of recovery in the markets."
The company has already secured orders for the coming months and is hopeful that production should continue through the year, he added.
Earlier this week, Finnish company Metsaliitto revealed that it sourced 2.6 million cubic metres for its customers and sawmills in the Baltic region during 2008.
It also stated that while timber sales from private sources in the region were lower than usual, government-provided timber was around average.
