Retail sales increased in Estonia during January, new data from the Baltic nation's official statistics office has revealed.
According to information released by Statistics Estonia, stable growth in the retail sale of goods in trade enterprises continued following an upturn throughout the last three months of 2012.
Retail sales in stores selling manufactured goods increased by seven per cent in the 31-day period compared with the same month in the previous year.
In addition, analysts saw sales rise in most economic activities as the country continues to perform well following the financial crisis.
Figures revealed sales of goods among retail trade enterprises stood at €337.6 million (£291 million), which represented €262 per inhabitant.
News of the advancement comes after Raivo Vare - logistics expert and former minister for transport in Estonia - said the decision to welcome Latvia into the single currency could have a positive impact on the Estonian economy.
