Cooperation with Finland is vital to the Estonia economy, according to one expert.
Speaking to Agenda magazine, Valdar Liive, head of Enterprise Estonia in Helsinki explained that the ties between the two countries are strong and involve a range of sectors.
"The biggest investments [by Finnish firms] have traditionally been in IT business, in telecommunications, timber industry, machinery and food industry," he said.
In terms of numbers, companies based in Finland are the main investors in Estonia, with some 4,000 businesses having links to the Baltic nation, Mr Liive added.
Enterprise Estonia is also looking to strength ties with other counties and has arranged business trips for delegates from many nations to visit the state, Mr Liive revealed.
Last week, at a meeting of the Estonian Forest Industries Association Andres Sutt, deputy governor of Eesti Pank, claimed that joining the euro would help the nation achieve economic stability.
This could also help the country meet its growth targets, he stated.
